The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology Library is seeking a highly skilled Officer to join its Collection Development team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for a wide range of duties, including:
- Compiling collection statistics reports at scheduled intervals to provide valuable insights into library usage.
- Designing and running analytics reports on demand to support data-driven decision making.
- Generating usage reports of electronic resources via publisher administrative platforms to ensure optimal resource utilization.
- Maintaining both internal and public departmental webpages to ensure accurate and up-to-date information.
- Performing bibliographic checking to ensure the accuracy and completeness of library collections.
- Processing book gifts and liaising with donors to build strong relationships with the community.
- Supervising an Assistant Officer to ensure effective team management and development.
- Assisting in collection development projects, such as regular weeding exercises, to maintain a high-quality library collection.
- Performing shift counter duties as required to provide excellent customer service.
To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong academic background, relevant library working experience, and excellent communication and teamwork skills. Knowledge of advanced MS Excel functions and/or Ex Libris Alma is a definite advantage. Requirements
Applicants should have at least 5 passes including English (min. Grade C if Syllabus A or level 2 if results were obtained from 2007 onwards) and Chinese in the HKCEE; or 5 subjects, including English Language and Chinese Language, attaining level 2 or above (or equivalent) in the HKDSE with relevant academic library working experience.
