Job Objective:
We're looking for a talented individual to support our strategic goals in ship management. Key responsibilities include reviewing maritime industry developments, identifying improvements, and proposing technical solutions. Key Responsibilities:
  1. Monitor the safe and efficient operation of the SMC Technical & marine operations.
  2. Proactively use company-developed software systems and IT platforms.
  3. Understand contractual agreements with customers to deliver ship management services safely and cost-effectively.
  4. Identify potential discrepancies in vessel operations and propose solutions to enhance efficiency, performance, and safety.
  5. Participate in the development of maintenance and repairs plans for assigned vessels.
  6. Monitor vessel trading certificates to ensure compliance with maritime legislation and safety regulations.
  7. Oversee the overall technical operation of assigned vessels, ensuring timely and accurate completion of maintenance activities.
  8. Manage vessel visits, audits, and inspections to enhance operational efficiency.
  9. Liaise with the LPSQ department to ensure alignment of technical requirements and standards.
  10. Monitor the accurate execution of maintenance activities in cooperation with the Onboard Management Team.
  11. Process requisition requests, evaluate quotations, and ensure timely supply of spare parts and stores to vessels.
  12. Review potential improvements and propose solutions to resolve technical issues identified by both on-board and shore-based teams.
  13. Ensure timely and qualitative execution of reporting requirements.
  14. Support the accurate execution of departmental operational and administration budget.
  15. Review performance appraisals, provide feedback, and propose amendments to ensure fair evaluation and career development.
  16. Coordinate, coach, and motivate the team to ensure staff have the necessary knowledge, skills, and support to perform effectively.
  17. Implement the OHSE management system on board, ensuring compliance and eliminating non-conformities.
Requirements:
  • B.S. degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or equivalent.
  • 3 years of sailing experience as a Senior Officer or 3 years of shore experience as a Technical Superintendent.
  • Strong knowledge of vessels' technical requirements and voyage regulations.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Good negotiation skills.
  • Good people management skills.
  • Team work and cooperation.
  • Good organisational skills.
  • Fluency in English.
  • PC literacy.
