As a Technical Consultant at Insight, you will oversee and support the daily operations of systems, networks, backups, and end-user hardware and software. Your responsibilities will include providing internal user support and training to ensure the seamless operation of our clients' IT infrastructure.

Leadership: The services manager for this role is Anson Lau, who splits his time between Hong Kong and Shanghai. Anson leads the team for GCR by supporting team members in developing their skills and reaching their potential through personalized feedback, encouragement, and fostering a growth-oriented environment. As a Technical Consultant, your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing and supporting daily operations of Systems / Networks / Backups / End User, including Hardware / Software support and training
  • Providing internal user support and training
  • Supporting Azure AD / Hybrid Cloud AD / O365 & AWS
  • Implementing and maintaining policies and procedures for Network, System Security, and Physical/Remote System access controls
  • Providing support for Network and Remote Connectivity Hardware / Software
  • Managing Security Solutions, including Firewalls, End Point Solutions, Web Application Firewalls, and Intrusion Prevention Systems
  • Scheduling and monitoring tasks on Networks / Servers
  • Analyzing and troubleshooting issues related to Network / System / End User
  • Assisting in coordinating projects, including Network-related wiring plans, Hardware and Software purchases, installation, backup, maintenance, and troubleshooting
  • Planning, coordinating, and consulting with vendors and clients for solution selection and support

We seek a Technical Consultant who possesses:

  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in IT administration and support
  • Experience in administering and maintaining Windows / Linux servers / Routers / Switches / Firewalls
  • In-depth technical knowledge of various network elements, servers, and platform operating systems, including Red Hat / CentOS / Ubuntu / K8S / Cisco and Dell products / HCI Solutions / firewalls / VPNs / WAFs / Load Balancers / IPS, etc.
  • Experience in hardware/software troubleshooting and network/system monitoring tools
  • Working technical knowledge of current network hardware, protocols, and standards, including IP Telephony, BGP, VPN, etc.
  • Working knowledge of storage technologies such as SAN / NAS / Openstorage
  • Experience with VMware and Hyper-V, as well as backup software like Veeam
  • Preferred certifications: MCSE/MCITP, CCNA
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in Cantonese, Mandarin, and English
  • Strong written, presentation, and oral communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues and resolutions to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Willingness to work outside of regular hours as needed
  • Willingness to travel for work assignments as required
