About the Role

The Position

The Business Associate (BA) Program is an exciting career pathway into Wellington Management for graduating, undergraduate Bachelor's students who are interested in the variety of career opportunities available in the investment management industry. This three-year program will help you gain insight into our industry, firm, and culture, as well as knowledge of the different business divisions that support our investment functions.

The program is split into two parts: (1) for the first 1.5 years, you will be working on your business and technical skill set while assimilating into the firm, your job, and our culture, and (2) the second 1.5 years, you will be discovering your long-term fit here at the firm and will be placed into positions across the firm that are complementary to your skills, interests, and our business need. BAs have successfully transitioned into roles on their current BA teams, onto other teams in the firm, and into other offices across the globe.

Responsibilities

  • Provide analytical leverage to the team and be a point of contact for internal constituents regarding inquiries about the investment teams and products under coverage.
  • Perform analyses related to portfolio positioning, attribution/risk, market trends, competitive positioning, and pricing.
  • Create and maintain marketing and client materials, review RFPs, respond to client questions, and support automation of workflow.
  • Collaborate on development of client solutions and new investment approaches.
  • Execute tasks to support internal operational workflows related to an investment approach.
  • Support technology development, including drafting business requirements and supporting technology adoption.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree earned in 2023 or 2024.
  • Preferred degree focus in Business, Economics, Finance, or related field, but all degrees will be considered.
  • Technical proficiency and comfort to learn new technologies and processes with a willingness to ask questions.
  • Demonstrated interest in investment management and markets.
  • Demonstrated cross-cultural skills, including language skills.
  • Familiarity with diverse cultures and the ability to collaborate within a diverse environment.
  • Demonstrated accomplishments in academics, community service, and/or extracurricular activities.
  • Geographic flexibility with a global mindset.
  • Strong grades in courses that emphasize analytical skills.
