Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in business development and new product initiatives as a risk and control subject matter expert, providing guidance on overall business risk aspects.
  • Act as a trusted partner to the business, ensuring it operates within risk appetite, identifying emerging risks, and analyzing lessons learned from past incidents.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for Investments and Wealth Solutions business teams and risk stewards on all risk-related topics.
  • Establish and maintain effective risk management and controls within Investments and Wealth Solutions, assessing operational risks, reviewing control procedures, and monitoring programs.
  • Coordinate with business teams to ensure timely recording and reporting of management-identified issues and corresponding action plans.
  • Propose and implement continuous control monitoring, arranging regular and ad-hoc reviews in response to review findings, business initiatives, and updates to Group policies and requirements.
  • Act as secretary to business risk governance meetings and ensure timely and comprehensive risk reporting to senior management in the risk forum.
  • Act as Business Information Risk Officer (BIRO), coordinating with business teams and risk stewards to drive regular and ad-hoc projects to comply with Information, Technology, and Cyber Security policies.
  • Promote operational risk awareness, including briefing and training to staff, sharing of internal/external incidents, etc.
Requirements
  • University degree in Finance, Accounting, or related discipline.
  • Around 5 years' relevant experience in banking, with exposure to risk control and relevant qualification.
  • Sound knowledge of retail banking, investment markets, products, and regulations, operational risk management, financial crime compliance, or other related areas.
  • Strong business sense, self-motivated, with good communication, logical, and positive thinking, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
  • Strong business acumen, with good problem-solving, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Great sense of ownership and servicing mindset to ensure efficient and effective deliverables.
  • Proficiency in both English and Chinese.
