Job Title: Risk Governance Specialist

DBS Bank is seeking a highly skilled Risk Governance Specialist to join our Global Transaction Services team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for ensuring adequate controls and processes are in place to identify and address risk issues in accordance with regulatory and internal risk management requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Partner with GTS Product and Sales teams to identify risks, assess impact, and provide remediation solutions.
  • Initiate, manage, and facilitate timely completion of governance and controls related tasks, including identification of gaps and remediation of issues.
  • Evaluate the business and risk of products, processes, and new systems in GTS, and provide an independent assessment to management.
  • Drive risk and control measures and control-related projects for GTS, including facilitating the New Product Assessment (NPA) process.
  • Work closely with second and third line of defense teams on planning and validation of thematic reviews, regulatory inspections, and audits.
  • Report and document findings, and present them to appropriate authorities, business leaders, and risk forums.
  • Stay alert to changes in regulatory and internal requirements, emerging business and compliance risks, and communicate them to internal stakeholders.
  • Render quality feedback to internal stakeholders on risk and regulations-related queries.
  • Participate in developing tools, policies, and processes relating to compliance and other ad hoc projects.
  • Develop and promote a robust risk culture amongst GTS teams by educating internal stakeholders on compliance with relevant policies, processes, and regulations.
Requirements:
  • University degree with 10+ years of experience in the banking industry, preferably in frontline, risk, and governance and control-related roles.
  • Attentive to details, compliance, and control-oriented, diligent, and proactive, with a growth mindset.
  • Knowledge of AML/KYC, compliance, sanctions, anti-corruption, and local regulatory requirements.
  • Fluency in English and Chinese.
  • Exceptional business writing, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Excellent people and communication skills in a culturally diverse environment.
  • Strong sense of ownership with the ability to work in a team environment.
  • CAMS, CFE, or other relevant professional qualifications, with experience in transaction review/investigation and designing controls an advantage.
