Alternative Investment Performance Specialist

We are seeking a high-calibre professional to join our team as an Alternative Investment Performance Specialist. The successful candidate will have a postgraduate degree and 5+ years of experience in performance analysis, attribution, and reporting.
About the Role
The Alternative Investment Performance Specialist will be responsible for assisting the Head of Alts P&R in managing the production of end-to-end reporting for various asset classes, including private equity, infrastructure debt, direct real estate, venture capital, direct lending, and capital group solutions. They will also calculate investment performance analytics for alternative asset classes, support the Alts P&R head, and ensure the calculation and delivery of accurate, consistent, relevant, and timely investment performance figures and attributions.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Head of Alts P&R in managing the production of end-to-end reporting for various asset classes like Private Equity, Infrastructure Debt, Direct Real Estate, Venture Capital, Direct Lending and Capital Group Solutions strategies etc.
- Calculate Investment Performance Analytics for Alts Asset classes, be an SME to support the Alts P&R head.
- Assist the Head of Alts P&R to ensure the calculation and delivery of accurate, consistent, relevant and timely investment performance figures and attributions. Ensures adoption of best practice across HSBC Alternatives.
- Ability to analyse fund performance for various alternative assets like private equity, hedge funds, real estate, and infrastructure debt for reports.
- Strong prioritization and effective communication skills required in order to manage the process flow and meet our targets and INS needs.
- Assist in the oversight and delivering of "Alternative Investor Reports, Client and Mandate Reports and Factsheets" as per the SLAs.
- Manage the stakeholders by having a constant line of communication and proactively considering the issues and plan for key risks and developments.
- Work closely with the wider HSBC Alternatives & AMG team and other stakeholders to suggest process improvements and increase the efficiency of the process to better service the INS clients.
- Assist Alts P&R head to ensure that reporting services are streamlined and capabilities improved, through the development of infrastructure and operating models.
- Assist Alts P&R head in compiling business requirement specification, work-stream prioritization, and acts as a lead for change projects for the Alts asset class Reporting.
- Team player, willing to help out and support other team members.
- Ability to quickly learn and absorb new tasks, present results to senior Business managers, and cascade knowledge across peers.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- Post Graduate degree holder with 5+ years of experience in Performance Analysis, Attribution & Reporting function.
- Proven ability to work accurately within tight deadlines and ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues. High level of flexibility required.
- Attention to detail, strong numerical skills and flexibility/willingness to adapt to changes in demand is a must.
- Strong interpersonal skills are sought as he/she would need to liaise with multiple individuals/departments to obtain data.
- Good understanding of asset management and performance measurement for alternatives essential.
- Proactive and positive attitude towards change.
- Strong PowerPoint/MS-Excel skills desired.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Additional Skills
A number of additional skills may be beneficial in this role, including:
- CFA/CAIA holder or working towards CFA/CAIA.
- Alteryx, Tableau, SQL & VBA.
- Experience in Alternatives and Performance Reporting function.
- Strong knowledge of financial products especially alternatives assets like private equity, venture capital, real estate, hedge funds and infrastructure.
