Faculty Positions in Experimental and Theoretical Physics

The Department of Physics at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology invites applications for several tenure-track faculty positions at the Assistant Professor level. We seek experimental candidates with expertise in quantum matter and quantum information, including quantum and low-dimensional materials, materials with strong electronic correlations, cold atoms, quantum optics, and quantum enabled technologies. We also seek theoretical candidates with expertise in condensed matter theory physics, quantum science (preferably with a focus on atomic, molecular, or optical methods), statistical physics, neural networks or data analytics.
Applicants must possess a PhD degree in physics or a related field, and provide evidence of strong research productivity. Appointments at the rank of Associate Professor or above will be considered for candidates with an exceptional record of research excellence and academic leadership. Appointees are expected to assume teaching responsibilities for undergraduate and graduate courses, and to conduct vigorous research programs.
