Vice President of Market Development

The Cash Equities Vice President is responsible for driving business growth and innovation in the secondary market. This role involves formulating strategic plans to enhance market liquidity, collaborating with project teams to implement initiatives, and supporting Sales and Marketing as a subject matter expert.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the development of a multi-year strategic plan to increase HKEX's securities market liquidity and diversify revenue streams.
- Develop and articulate policy recommendations to HKEX senior management and regulators.
- Collaborate with internal parties on the prioritization and implementation of business initiatives.
- Cultivate relationships with buy-side, sell-side, and liquidity providing firms to improve HKEX's market efficiency and competitiveness.
- Develop market insights and analysis regarding Hong Kong and China securities markets that cater to HKEX's diverse clientele.
- Represent HKEX as a thought leader for industry groups, conferences, clients, and media.
- Collaborate with internal and external parties on the promotion of Hong Kong's securities market.
Requirements:
- At least 5 years of experience in equity execution trading, brokering, and/or market structure.
- Strong business acumen with experience in product management/development.
- Ability to balance strategic vision with tactical opportunities.
- Specialist-level understanding of securities/equity and Stock Connect market structure.
- Critical problem-solving skills to test hypotheses and validate findings.
- Strong multi-level communication skills and ability to build working relationships across HKEX and regulators.
- Fluency/proficient in Mandarin preferred.
- Strong commercial mindset and ability to break down barriers to achieve goals.
