Senior Logistics Supervisor

Basic Function

The incumbent will be responsible for overseeing a streamlined Logistics Operation, which includes the management of product storage and distribution at our third-party logistics (3PL) facilities or terminals across Asia. The goal is to enhance the logistics team's capabilities, ensure adherence to delivery commitments, and meet customer demands and satisfaction.

Roles & Responsibilities

Logistics Operations:
• Oversee logistics functions including terminal management, warehousing, trucking, surveying, packaging, and customs brokerage in Asia to guarantee that daily logistics operations run smoothly and efficiently.

Logistics Commercial:
• Assist in developing and implementing commercial sourcing strategies for logistics negotiations, and conduct economic analyses for required logistics services and assets.

Logistics Compliance:
• Provide technical expertise on all equipment specifications necessary for transporting products.
• Monitor logistics vendors to ensure compliance with company standards and complete due diligence and internal logistics review procedures.

Vessel Chartering for Intra-Asia:
• Engage with freight market participants and brokers for vessel chartering.
• Exhibit strong negotiation skills and the ability to strategically position in the market when negotiating for liquid chemical charters.

Customer Complaint Resolution:
• Support the investigation and definition of corrective actions.

Project Participation:
• Leverage experience to establish quality management and logistics operation flows, addressing issues and challenging existing practices.

Provide training, guidance, and functional expertise as necessary to assist and mentor team members.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Associate degree in logistics, business, or a technical field.
IT Skills: Proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Experience: At least 8 years of experience in a multinational company within Supply Chain functions.
Languages: Proficiency in English and Chinese is essential.

Preferred Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree in logistics, business, or a technical field.
IT Skills: Familiarity with SAP and Power BI.
Languages: Proficiency in Japanese or additional languages is advantageous.
Experience:
• Minimum 10 years of experience in a multinational company within Supply Chain functions (customer service, shipping, logistics, distribution, procurement).
• Knowledge of international trade or supply chain functions, particularly in logistics operations procedures.
• Familiarity with chemical vessel chartering and technical experience in the chemical liquid industry is preferred.

Functional Competencies / Skills:

• Manage delivery aspects in a distribution hub with complex regulations and fluctuating distribution patterns.
• Demonstrate strong communication skills both internally and externally to achieve Supply Chain objectives.
• Innovate cost-saving initiatives to align with business strategies, enhance efficiency, and standardize procedures.
• Ensure strict compliance with local regulations, distribution standards, operating guidelines, and internal control policies.
• Pay special attention to adherence to the Logistics Code of Practice and corporate commitments to responsible care and product stewardship.
• Conduct regular training and reviews to ensure smooth distribution operations.
• Maintain strong interfaces with Customer Service, Operations, Commercial, Finance, Supply Sources, and Supply Chain Management.
• Engage in ongoing dialogue with a diverse range of contracted services and logistics providers.
• Exhibit analytical and problem-solving skills.
