The School of Graduate Studies is established for strengthening the central support for postgraduate programmes as well as the monitoring of their quality in alignment with the University’s strategic direction of expanding and providing quality postgraduate education.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and provide administrative support in a wide range of duties pertaining to taught postgraduate (TPg) programmes including, but not limited to, formulation of academic policies and regulations, academic development, quality assurance and enhancement of TPg programmes offered by different faculties and schools in the University.
- Provide secretarial support for programme review and validation exercises, and ad-hoc committees.
- Provide administrative support for TPg related teaching and learning enhancement initiatives at the central level.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by supervisor(s).
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree.
- 10 years’ post qualification experience, preferably with tertiary education institutions.
- Substantial administration experience in supporting academic quality assurance and enhancement of higher education programmes and committee work.
- An excellent command of written and verbal English and Chinese (including Putonghua), especially with a high level of English proficiency in writing reports, proposals and minutes.
- Very strong logical thinking, analytical, interpersonal, communication, coordination and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to take the initiative and to carry out duties independently and under tight schedules.
- Good supervisory skills, with the ability to motivate junior colleagues to achieve common goals of the School and the University.
- A strong sense of responsibility.
- Knowledge in IT applications.
Candidates with less/more experience will also be considered for appointment at a relevant rank.
Salary and Fringe Benefits
The rank and commencing salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits, where applicable, include annual leave, medical and dental benefits, mandatory provident fund and gratuity.
