The Kowloon East campus, our first phase, will cater for students enrolled in the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) for Grades 1‑5. Our mission is to integrate Chinese language and culture while broadening international perspectives, nurturing students to become compassionate and competent global citizens with deep appreciation and understanding of their cultural roots. Our curriculum uniquely integrates the inquiry‑based framework of the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) with the richness of Chinese language and culture, creating a truly immersive and bicultural learning environment. The Opportunity As our founding Teacher of Learning Support and Pastoral Care, you will be the architect of our school's culture of care and inclusion. This is a unique leadership opportunity to design and implement a comprehensive, school‑wide system of support from the ground up. You will be responsible for ensuring that every student, from those requiring academic intervention and enrichment to those needing social‑emotional guidance, has the tools they need to thrive. You will be a key coach for faculty and a vital partner for parents, building a community where every child feels seen, valued, and supported. Duties and Responsibilities System and Policy Development Design and implement the school's whole‑school system of support (e.g., Response to Intervention), including all referral, assessment, and case management processes. Develop and document the founding Inclusion and Pastoral Care policies in alignment with IB PYP best practices. Student Support and Case Management Provide direct academic support to students, both individually and in small groups, for intervention and enrichment. Develop and manage Individualized Learning Plans (ILPs) in collaboration with teachers and parents. Serve as the primary case manager for students with identified needs, coordinating all internal and external support. Collaboration, Coaching, and Parent Partnership Coach and support faculty in differentiation, inclusive teaching strategies, and student well‑being. Build strong partnerships with parents through clear communication, guidance, and by leading parent education workshops. Liaise with external professionals to ensure a holistic network of student support. Pastoral Care and Well‑being Proactively support the social‑emotional well‑being of all students. Lead the school's response in student crisis situations. Requirements Essential Qualifications & Experience A recognized degree in Special Education, Inclusive Education, School Counseling, or a related field (Master's degree preferred). A valid teaching license and eligibility for registration with the Hong Kong EDB. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a learning support or school counseling role. Full professional proficiency in both English and Mandarin is essential, with the ability to lead meetings and workshops in both languages. Cantonese proficiency is a significant advantage. The Ideal Candidate Will Have (Desirable Attributes) Experience with the IB PYP and its inclusive practices. A resilient, flexible, and pioneering mindset suited to a founding school. Proven experience developing student support programs and policies. Experience with psycho‑educational assessments and diverse learning needs (e.g., ADHD, dyslexia). Experience or qualifications in school counseling. Core Competencies Exceptional empathy, patience, and discretion. Excellent communication skills for coaching colleagues and partnering with parents.
