As the Kowloon East campus, our first phase will focus on the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) for students in Grades 1-5. The Opportunity As a founding PYP Homeroom Teacher (Expatriate), you will play a pivotal role in a dynamic co‑teaching partnership, with a specific focus on leading the English language programand delivering our Units of Inquiryand Sciences curriculum. This role is central to our mission of broadening international perspectives and fostering a spirit of scientific inquiry. Duties and Responsibilities Teaching and Learning: In a co‑teaching partnership, lead the delivery of the English language program, and teach Units of Inquiry and Sciences through the medium of English. Design and implement engaging, inquiry‑based learning experiences that foster a spirit of scientific exploration and bring a rich global perspective to all areas of learning. Develop and implement differentiated teaching strategies and personalised learning plans based on the age, needs, and learning traits of each student, including those learning English as an Additional Language (EAL). Provide patient, individualized guidance to students, designing meaningful learning engagements and encouraging them to explore and inquire with confidence. Utilise a range of formative and summative assessment strategies to provide meaningful feedback and inform instructional planning. Collaboration and Curriculum Development: Actively co‑plan and co‑teach PYP Units of Inquiry with your Chinese homeroom partner and specialist teachers. Contribute to the development of the school's unique, school‑based curriculum, creating innovative materials for interdisciplinary projects and units of inquiry. Actively engage in collaborative planning, peer observation, and professional learning communities to continuously enhance teaching practice and professionalism. Student Well‑being and Community: Foster the holistic development of each child, gaining a thorough understanding of their academic and personal progress. Build strong, trusting home‑school partnerships through clear, proactive, and consistent communication with parents regarding student progress and well‑being. Contribute positively to the wider school community by leading at least one Co‑Curricular Activity (CCA) per semester. Candidates Profile / Requirements Essential Qualifications & Experience: A recognized teaching degree (e.g., B.Ed., PGDE) and a valid teaching license. Must be a registered teacher with the Hong Kong Education Bureau (EDB) or be eligible for registration. A minimum of 5 years of primary school teaching experience. The Ideal Candidate Will Have (Desirable Attributes): Deep familiarity and significant experience with the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) or the UK National Curriculum. A pioneering mindset with a resilient, flexible, and positive "can‑do" attitude suited to a founding school. Experience in a bilingual or co‑teaching environment is highly preferred. Experience teaching English as an Additional Language (EAL) is a significant advantage. An appreciation for and willingness to engage with Chinese language and culture.
