Building on the legacy of the acclaimed YK Pao School in Shanghai, YK Pao School Hong Kong is a non-profit, bilingual school dedicated to nurturing the global leaders of tomorrow. The Kowloon East campus, our first phase, will cater for students enrolled in the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) for students in Grades 1-5. The Opportunity As a founding Trainee Teacher, you will be an integral member of our collaborative teaching teams. You will provide essential support to both students and lead teachers, playing a key role in the daily life of the classroom and the wider school community. Duties and Responsibilities Classroom and Student Support: Assist lead teachers (both Chinese and Expatriate) in the delivery of the PYP curriculum. Work with individual students and small groups to reinforce learning concepts and provide targeted support. Assist in the implementation of personalized learning plans and differentiation strategies. Support the lead teacher in fostering a positive, safe, and well-managed learning environment. Pastoral Care and Supervision: Actively support student well-being and promote positive social and emotional development. Provide supervision for students during non-instructional times, including arrival, dismissal, break times, and lunch. Assist with practical duties, such as escorting students to and from school buses, to ensure student safety and smooth daily operations. Accompany and support students on school trips and at school events. Administrative and Logistical Support: Prepare and organize learning materials, resources, and classroom equipment. Assist in maintaining a stimulating classroom environment, including creating displays of student work. Provide administrative support as needed, such as photocopying, filing, and maintaining student records. Professional Collaboration: Work collaboratively and professionally with all members of the teaching team. Participate in relevant team meetings and professional development opportunities. Uphold the mission and values of YK Pao School in all interactions. Requirements Essential Qualifications & Experience: A Bachelor's degree, preferably in an education-related field. Full professional proficiency in both English and Mandarin Chinese is essential. Proven experience working with primary-aged children in a school, tutoring, or camp setting. Must be eligible to work in Hong Kong. The Ideal Candidate Will Have (Desirable Attributes): A genuine passion for education and a strong desire to pursue a career in teaching.
