We are now looking for a suitable person to fill the following position in the School of Education and Languages:

Major Duties and Responsibilities
The appointee will assist in a research project focused on the acoustic analysis of tone in the Hmong language (Project code: R 6676).
The appointee will be responsible mainly for the following:
- Assisting and supporting the principal investigator in implementing all aspects related to the research project;
- Assisting in collecting and compiling fundamental research data;
- Conducting linguistic experiments as well as data entry and analysis;
- Providing a wide range of administrative support to the project; and
- Carrying out other duties as assigned by project investigator.
Candidates
Candidates should possess the following qualifications, experience and competence:
- A recognized bachelor’s degree or higher in a linguistic discipline;
- Preferably with a higher degree and familiarity with acoustic data analysis;
- A strong sense of responsibility and excellent organizational and interpersonal skills;
- Proficiency in various computer applications such as MS Office, Word, Excel, Praat and R;
- Outstanding written and spoken English and Chinese language abilities; and
- Preference will be given to candidates with relevant research or project administration experience.
Terms and Conditions for Appointment
Successful candidate will be appointed on a temporary/part-time contract. Benefits will be provided in accordance with the statutory provisions.
