Assistant Professor - Department of Literature and Cultural Studies The Department of Literature and Cultural Studies seeks applications for a full-time academic position at the rank of Assistant Professor. The appointee will participate in teaching, research, and other services. He/she is required to be actively involved in research that leads to successful grant proposals and publications in recognized refereed journals. He/she will also teach in programmes at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels; provide guidance to students in the capacity of academic adviser; supervise students on teaching practice and contribute to departmental and faculty activities and management. Applicants should possess a PhD in relevant discipline(s), along with a PGDE (or equivalent). Several years of experience in tertiary teaching is essential. The candidate will be expected to teach courses on the History of Pre‑modern or Modern China, the History of Hong Kong, and History Pedagogy. Preference will be given to candidates with strong connections within secondary school networks. Additionally, a solid understanding of the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination is required. The expected start date will be around August 2025. Initial appointment will be made on a fixed‑term contract.
