We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Manager, Custody Ops Transformation .

Principal Responsibilities

Role Purpose

Change and Transformation
  • Analyse Current Processes: Conduct comprehensive assessments of existing operational processes, controls, and risk management practices to identify areas for improvement and potential gaps
  • Ability to acquire knowledge: Understand and learn features of multiple systems, processes and controls, to optimize time and resources in efficient execution of various projects. Keep continuous engagement with stake holders to remain closer to the processes & market changes if any
  • Process Improvement: Lead process improvement initiatives to streamline operations, enhance productivity, and optimize resource utilization. Implement best practices and innovative solutions to achieve operational excellence
  • Risk Mitigation: Collaborate with teams to assess potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate operational, compliance, and financial risks. Monitor control effectiveness and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements
  • Performance Monitoring: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the team's progress and measure the success of process improvement initiatives. Provide regular updates on performance and actionable insights
  • Change Management: Facilitate the implementation of RUBIX and process enhancements and control measures, ensuring smooth change management and effective communication to stakeholders
  • Training and Skill Development: Identify training needs and develop skill development plans for team members to equip them with expertise in process improvement methodologies and risk management
  • Continuous Improvement Culture: Foster a culture of continuous improvement across the organization, encouraging all teams to actively contribute to identifying opportunities for enhancement
  • Project Management: Take ownership of specific projects related to process improvement and operational excellence. Develop project plans, manage timelines, and oversee project execution to achieve desired outcomes
  • Support to Head of Function: Assist the Head of Department in various strategic initiatives, data analysis, and preparation of reports for senior management
  • Reporting and Governance: Establish clear governance structures and reporting mechanisms to monitor progress, address issues, and provide regular updates to relevant stakeholders
Stakeholder Management
  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of process improvements and to leverage expertise from various departments
  • Partner with Audit and Compliance regionally to resolve high audit items, deliver prompt resolution and actions, and take ownership where appropriate; and liaise with relevant Business stream to provide updates and transparency
  • Partner with internal, external and regional stakeholders in understanding current process, future requirements, critically evaluate solutions and ensure periodic sharing overall status for transparency
Principal Accountabilities

  • Deliver Risk & Control Framework
  • Cost Review & Rationalization
  • Change Management & Process Improvement
  • Support delivery of MSS Ops-led initiatives
Operational Effectiveness & Control
  • Partner with Risk Managers to ensure joined up and consistent approach to risk and control
  • Work with Global Businesses to ensure that the framework is consistent across Securities and Global in nature
  • Create strong risk & control environment from junior team members through to management team
  • Support formal escalation framework across all aspects of Operations, including day to day operational risks and systemic risks
Requirements

Knowledge & Experience / Qualifications
  • University degree preferably in Business or Information Technology
  • Solid experience in the custody, broker outsourcing of clearing, banking or securities industry
  • Strong management and operational experience in securities clearing and settlement, including settlement processing experience
  • Track record of project management and supervising a team
