As the VP compliance, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring regulatory compliance across Wealth Management, Asset Management, FICC, Institution Solutions & Derivatives, and other core business areas. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Providing in-depth compliance advisory and guidance on new business/product initiatives, suitability assessments, licensing requirements, and appropriate business models.
  • Planning and implementing robust compliance programs aligned with OTC derivatives compliance regulations.
  • Maintaining a comprehensive understanding of OTC derivatives, structured products, and monitoring changes in the regulatory landscape.
  • Reviewing and enhancing existing compliance controls, proposing remedial measures to mitigate regulatory risks across key business lines.
  • Advising management on potential impacts of regulatory trends and developments, escalating critical compliance issues.
  • Collaborating with the Head of Compliance on ad-hoc projects related to new regulatory changes and business initiatives.

The ideal candidate will possess a university degree in Finance or a related discipline, coupled with a minimum of 8 years of relevant business compliance experience. Extensive exposure to financial products, OTC derivatives, and structured products is essential. Additionally, a strong command of the Securities and Futures Ordinance (SFO) and HKEX rules is required. Excellent communication skills in English and Chinese (Putonghua fluency is a must), along with proficiency in Microsoft Office, are necessary for success in this role.
