M+ is a museum dedicated to collecting, exhibiting, and interpreting visual art, design and architecture, moving image, and Hong Kong visual culture of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries. Our aim is to create a new kind of museum that reflects our unique time and place, a museum that builds on Hong Kong’s historic balance of the local and international to define a distinctive and innovative voice for Asia’s twenty-first century.

(This is a fixed-term contract position of 2-year with possibility for renewal subject to organisational needs and individual performance. )

You will be responsible for:

  • ensuring the seamless handover from Event Co-ordination Team, and acting as on-site floor manager to oversee the performance of third-party service providers so as to ensure exceptional customer service is delivered;

  • communicating and collaborating with F&B counterparts, vendors and/ or suppliers and concerned departments in M+ and WKCDA in a professional manner and ensure the successful running of events;

  • monitoring the performance of all M+ service providers and revert comments to maintain service standards, included but not limited to Porter Services

  • settling the bill with hirer by the end of events and interact with hirers and/ or guests to obtain feedback in regard to food and beverage, service standards, venue ambience, technology support;

  • conducting stock-take on regular basis; purchase and ensure the operating equipment and supplies are well maintained at an adequate level for event services and align with guests’ needs;

  • maintaining good awareness of all museum programmes and communicating effectively with different stakeholders including internal departments;

  • ensuring all acts in back-of-house and front-of-house (event-related) are in full compliance with rules and regulation and laws;

  • assisting to update SOP, safety and operation guide with effective communication with concern departments of WKCDA & M+;

  • assisting to formulate yearly budget for operating expenses, keeping the spending in line with budget and conduct forecasting regularly or whenever it is needed; and

  • performing any other duties as may direct by supervisor when necessary.

You should:

  • possess a recognised diploma/ degree in event operation/ management, hospitality management or related discipline;

  • have at least 6 years of relevant work experience;

  • have excellent knowledge in event services, as well as food & beverage, experience with international luxury hotel brand will be an advantage;

  • have a strong sense of responsibility, good interpersonal and organization skills and attentive to details;

  • be proficiency in written and spoken English and Chinese including Putonghua; and

  • shift duty, work in flexible schedule including weekends, evenings, and holidays if necessary.
