Executive Head Chef

JOB SUMMARY:

At this company, you will be leading a culinary team in a contemporary South East Asian restaurant. Located in vibrant Hong Kong this is an outstanding opportunity for the right candidate to establish themselves in the heart of Asia.

RESPONSIBILITIES include:

  • Create and implement delicious Vietnamese, Thai and Malaysian dishes for an upmarket South East Asian restaurant. Menu to balance classic dishes together with new innovations smartly presented in a sophisticated restaurant environment.
  • Collaborate with management team to develop an innovative food/menu concept with a Vietnamese/Thai/ Malaysian core in an upmarket setting.
  • Bring your exceptional culinary expertise to the forefront, creating memorable dining experiences that surpass expectations. Manage menu development including lunch & dinner menus, signature dishes, event menus, specials and regular updates.
  • Provide culinary leadership to the kitchen team, creating a culture of excellence, precision, and teamwork that delivers an unforgettable dining experience. Work collaboratively with the executive team to achieve the restaurant's culinary goals.
  • Recruit, train, and mentor kitchen staff, fostering a culture of excellence, precision, and teamwork. Provide guidance and support to help them refine their skills and reach their full potential.
  • Regularly explore new ingredients, techniques, and culinary trends to refine the experience, showcasing your talent and pushing the boundaries of excellence.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proven experience with South East Asian cuisines, demonstrating a high level of knowledge and competence.
  • A keen understanding of contemporary culinary trends and a knack for infusing international flavours into your creations.
  • Strong leadership and management abilities to guide, motivate, and develop a team. Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously, fostering a positive work environment and encouraging collaboration.
  • A creative flair for crafting visually stunning dishes that delight both the palate and the eye.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with team members, interact with guests, and provide clear instructions and feedback.
