Polymer was established in conjunction with PAG, one of the world's largest Asia-focused alternative asset managers, in 2019.Job Responsibilities / Job BriefCollaborate with risk team members to ensure comprehensive Risk Management of the Fund.Conduct daily risk monitoring and P&L analysis for the overall Fund and individual portfolios.Engage in bi-weekly meetings and ad hoc discussions with portfolio managers to provide risk insights and recommendations.Develop and implement innovative quantitative analytics to enhance understanding of the firm's investment activities.Gain a deep understanding of proprietary analytics tools and their application to individual portfolios and the overall fund.Provide guidance and support to portfolio managers on risk-related matters and the use of proprietary risk management tools.Perform custom analyses of portfolios and/or returns to identify potential risks and opportunities.Ensure compliance with approved fund guidelines and risk limits on an ongoing basis.Collaborate with Trading, Compliance, and Middle/Back Office departments to resolve issues impacting portfolio managers' activities and performance.Regularly update and maintain risk management policies and procedures.RequirementsAt least 3 years’ experience in a related role, ideally as a risk manager at a hedge fund employing strategies such as long-short equities, macro, CTA, or multi-strategy, or with a brokerage firm in a trading, risk, or quantitative role.Proficiency in using quantitative tools, including multi-factor risk modeling, to analyze portfolio risks and develop advanced analyses.Strong teamwork skills and a detail-oriented approach to work.Strong communication skills with the ability to guide others in understanding and implementing new ideas and concepts while accommodating different personalities and experience levels.Ability to balance theoretical ideals with practical business and commercial interests.Demonstrated commitment to maintaining a strong compliance mentality.Proficiency in Python and Excel is essential, modeling skills are a plus.Fluency in English and preferably one other Asian language.This role requires a skilled and experienced risk management professional who can contribute to the success of the hedge fund by ensuring robust risk management practices, developing innovative analytics, and collaborating effectively with portfolio managers and other key stakeholders.Why join us?Prime Location: You'll work full time from one of our offices centrally located in the heart of Tokyo, Singapore, or Hong Kong.High-Growth: We have a team of highly ambitious professionals with a strong desire to learn and develop their skills.Equal opportunity employer: We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.Global exposure: With six offices and three affiliate offices around the region, Polymer teams work together to solve meaningful problems at scale.Some of our BenefitsPaid annual leaveMedical group insuranceGym facility
