Job SummaryWith offices in Bermuda, Singapore, and Hong Kong, Transamerica Life (Bermuda) is a global multi-hub life insurer specialising in providing bespoke life insurance services to HNW customers. We have embarked upon an exciting growth and expansion plan and therefore seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Commercial Development to support the Commercial team to help shape & drive the Company’s expansive strategy.Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer, TLB (CCO), and based out of Hong Kong, this is a key role in building the commercial proposition and support model, ensuring cohesiveness across functions and the timely delivery of commercial initiatives, and will play a pivotal role in shaping the future direction of the commercial development in the company.Working closely with the CCO and Commercial team heads, this individual will be responsible for developing, communicating, executing, and sustaining strategic initiatives across the organisation.Given the global nature of the role, the ideal candidate will possess an understanding of differences in distribution and marketing across various markets and can use this to develop enhancements that will facilitate distribution growth and operational excellence.ResponsibilitiesSupport the CCO development and execution of commercial based strategy and initiatives for expansion of TLB’s presence in the HNW segment in both existing and new global markets. This includes the day to day engagement and running of the division.Drive strategic and tactical initiatives, ensuring a cohesive approach across the relevant divisions to deliver the desired outcome.Continually review, identify, and assess ‘areas of opportunity’ within the business for enhancement, and take proactive action to implement appropriate improvements.Oversee and enhance the development and management of the support and reporting framework for the commercial function, including leading business planning and monitoring actual performance against the plan for the division.Work in partnership with the Commercial team and Business function heads to cohesively assess and align enhancements and development initiatives, ensuring measurable impact for the outcome.Support and coordinate (where applicable) the development of content for internal and external presentations to employees, stakeholders, and distribution partners.Take a lead role in the delivery and ongoing management of the segmentation program, including account assessment and monitoring, service delivery (in partnership with the commercial function heads)Establish effective communication channels with distribution partners to understand Support activities from nurturing relationships, business partner engagement, supporting pipeline case management and closing new business applications customer needs, competitor insights and marketRequirementsDegree holders with 15+ years of Life Insurance experience ideally across several marketsMust have extensive prior experience (i.e. 15 years) in the life insurance industry, ideally in senior roles coordinating across functions and locationsGood working knowledge of HNW and Ultra HNW market and insurance markets.Experience in Distribution Management and expansion, and proven track record in achievement.Measurable record of success in building propositions (esp HNW) and supporting programs and products that lead to market expansion.Strong leadership capability with exceptional persuasion and negotiation skills to effectively work within a bigger team and communicate well across all levels of the company.Motivational and inspiring leader able to bring out the best in their team, peers, and colleagues.Excellent organizational skills with ability to operate on a wide range of topics and projects - must be able to work in a team environment with players from many different organizations - superior attention to detailsInterested candidates are invited to submit the application online with detailed resume stating educational background, working experience, current and expected salaries, and contact number.Personal data collected will be used for recruitment purposes.Personal data of unsuccessful applicants may be retained up to two years only.Aegon Asia provides equal employment opportunities for employees and applicants throughout the employment lifecycle, including recruitment and selection, promotions, transfers, training and development, compensation and benefits, performance management, disciplinary procedures, Company-sponsored social and recreational programs and termination.
