Job title: Learning & Development Manager

The Learning & Development Manager will be based in Hong Kong and report to the Commercial Operations Director of Hong Kong & Macau markets.

The incumbent is responsible for defining, developing, and facilitating all learning and development plans and activities for employees. These initiatives are designed to support the organization's learning strategy and annual learning plan. The manager ensures that the objectives of these plans are effectively achieved, in line with the company's requirements regarding compliance, safety, and reliable supply to customers. The ultimate goal is to contribute to the development of a highly motivated workforce that strives to be the best in its class, fostering a culture of continuous improvement for the whole Hong Kong office.

Key responsibilities:

  • Take the lead in spearheading company-wide learning and development initiatives, that go beyond the boundaries of the Human Health Sales & Marketing team. This includes more than just the Enterprise Leadership Skills program scheduled for organization-wide launch in 2024 or People Manager Capability Workshop and beyond.
  • Learning Program Design: Develop and implement a comprehensive learning strategy that aligns with organizational goals and addresses identified training needs. This includes selecting appropriate training methods and technologies to deliver effective learning experiences for the organization.
  • Training Development: Create engaging and impactful training materials, including presentations, e-learning modules, job aids, and other resources. Ensure content is current, relevant, and aligned with best practices in instructional design.
  • Training Delivery: Facilitate learning sessions, workshops, and training programs, both in-person and virtually, to ensure effective knowledge transfer and skill development.
  • Training Needs Analysis: Conduct thorough assessments to identify skill gaps, training needs, and performance improvement opportunities.
  • Performance Support: Develop and implement performance support tools and resources for sales team (Human Health) to reinforce learning and provide ongoing support to employees.
  • Evaluation and Measurement: Establish evaluation methods to assess the effectiveness and impact of training programs. Collect and analyze feedback and performance data to continuously improve learning initiatives.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with internal stakeholders, subject matter experts, and external vendors to design, develop, and deliver training programs that meet organizational needs.
  • Budget Management: Develop and manage the learning and development budget, ensuring cost-effective use of resources and exploring opportunities for external funding or grants.
  • Stay Current: Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in learning and development to continuously enhance the organization's learning initiatives.

Education Requirement:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Education, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.

Required Experience:

  • Minimum of 6-10 years’ related experience
  • Proven experience as a Learning & Development Manager or similar role, with a track record of designing and delivering successful training programs.
  • Strong knowledge of instructional design principles, adult learning theories, and training methodologies.

Skills and Capabilities:

  • Proficiency in using learning management systems (LMS) and e-learning authoring tools.
  • Excellent facilitation and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and inspire learners.
  • Exceptional project management abilities, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to gather and interpret data to drive decision-making.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and motivate others.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
