Marine Superintendent

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Marine Superintendent to join our team at Novo Recruitment Solutions Pte Ltd. As a Marine Superintendent, you will be responsible for providing support to the Marine Manager, offering assistance to Masters and crews, and ensuring operations comply with company standards and international regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Marine Support: Provide support to the Marine Manager as required, ensuring seamless operations and effective implementation of the company's management system.
  • Vessel Operations: Assist Masters and crews in ensuring operations comply with company standards and international regulations, promoting energy efficiency, environmental awareness, and a strong health, safety, and security culture.
  • Internal Audits: Conduct regular marine visits, ensuring any issues raised are promptly addressed in collaboration with other departments, and perform internal audits in line with relevant procedures.
  • Training and Development: Identify training needs during marine visits and provide training where possible, ensuring Masters are aware of key terms and chartered party agreements.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Track and follow up on issues identified during third-party inspections, maintaining documentation in the CAPE database and providing updates to the Marine Manager as needed.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • At least two years of command experience at sea.
  • Strong knowledge of industry standards, guidelines, and international regulations.
  • In-depth operational understanding of the vessel types under the Marine Superintendents oversight.
  • Experience and training in internal auditing.
  • Expertise in incident investigation.
  • Background in risk management with relevant education and experience.
  • Skills and experience in marine inspections.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others and strong communication skills.
