The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology is a world-renowned research university in Hong Kong, ranked among the top universities in Asia. The School of Engineering is dedicated to maintaining expertise in mechanical and aerospace engineering, with a strong focus on advanced computational and experimental resources. The Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering invites applications for multiple tenure-track/tenured faculty positions in Robotics/Control Theory, Advanced Manufacturing, and Materials Science. Successful candidates will have a Ph.D. in mechanical engineering or related areas and a strong commitment to teaching and research. They will be expected to establish externally-funded research programs and have a strong commitment to mentoring. Appointment at all ranks will be considered, with a highly competitive salary and fringe benefits.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and lead externally-funded research programs in Robotics/Control Theory, Advanced Manufacturing, and Materials Science
  • Teach and mentor undergraduate and graduate students in mechanical engineering and related areas
  • Contribute to the development of the Department's research and teaching programs

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in mechanical engineering or related areas
  • Recognized academic, research, and/or industrial experience
  • Strong commitment to teaching and mentoring
