The Cheng Kar-Shun Robotics Institute at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology is a multidisciplinary platform that supports and facilitates robotics-related research, development, and education. The Institute also nurtures a network of industry partners, designs entrepreneurship programs, and drives knowledge dissemination.

Job Summary

We are seeking highly enthusiastic, self-motivated, dynamic, and academically excellent candidates as Research Assistant Professors in all Robotics-related areas and particularly in Robotics; Systems/Control; Networking; and Manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and teach project-based courses
  • Conduct research on robotics (Marine robotics, Construction robotics, Autonomous driving, etc.)
  • Supervise projects

Requirements

  • PhD degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related disciplines
  • Demonstrated strength in research and commitment to teaching
  • Proven teaching and advising experience at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels
  • Strong research record consistent with the candidate's academic rank
  • Demonstrated ability to work in interdisciplinary teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated effectiveness in the field of Robotics, SLAM, Marine Technology, Autonomous Driving, Networking, or related fields
