Senior Vice President, Derivatives Trading Operations Specialist

The Derivatives Trading Operations Team at Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the Hong Kong derivatives market. As a Senior Vice President, Derivatives Trading Operations, you will lead our day shift team, shape the next generation trading platform, and drive operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage daytime operations of the derivatives exchange to ensure seamless trading and resolve any issues that exchange participants may encounter.
- Ensure smooth production handover to the evening shift and maintain a high level of operational efficiency.
- Handle contingencies in a timely manner, enforce proper escalation procedures, and act according to established policies and protocols.
- Drive continuous improvement of our tools, processes, rules, and policies to enhance operational excellence.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders for the implementation of new products and initiatives, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements.
- Lead, develop, and retain a high-performing team, focusing on building talent, engagement, and development.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest international trends on regulatory development related to derivatives market operations.
- Build strong relationships with relevant statutory bodies, industry associations, and market participants.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or related disciplines; strong IT project experience is a distinct advantage.
- Minimum of 15 years of professional experience, with at least 8 years at the management level of well-established financial institutions.
- Strong knowledge of derivatives products, market practices, and regulations, as well as the trading platform.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and people management skills, with the ability to handle time-critical situations, multitask, and adjust to changing priorities.
- Excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese, with proficiency in Putonghua an advantage.
