Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Wine Connoisseur and Service Expert to join our team at Marriott International. In this role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional wine service to our guests, ensuring that every experience is memorable and enjoyable.

About the Role

The Wine Connoisseur and Service Expert will be the face of our wine program, responsible for showcasing our extensive wine list to guests and making recommendations based on their preferences. You will work closely with our culinary team to pair wines with menu items, and develop relationships with wine vendors to source new and exciting products.

Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional wine service to guests, including pouring wine, answering questions, and making recommendations.
  • Work closely with the culinary team to pair wines with menu items, ensuring that every dish is perfectly matched.
  • Develop relationships with wine vendors to source new and exciting products, staying up-to-date on the latest trends and releases.
  • Maintain accurate records of wine inventory, sales, and customer preferences.
  • Participate in wine tastings and educational events to stay knowledgeable about wine and its many varieties.
  • Collaborate with the management team to design and implement wine promotions and incentive programs, driving sales and revenue growth.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of experience in the hospitality industry, preferably in a fine dining or wine-focused setting.
  • Excellent knowledge of wine, including types, regions, and pairing principles.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with guests, colleagues, and vendors.
  • Able to lift and carry cases of wine (up to 50 pounds) and navigate narrow spaces with ease.
  • Familiarity with Point-of-Sale systems and inventory management software.
