Senior Manager of Business Operations

Position Overview:

This newly established position within the Markets Sales COO team is tasked with overseeing the Business Execution and Risk & Control functions for Sales across the Asia clusters, including Japan, Asia North & Australia (JANA) and Asia South (AS). Reporting directly to the Sales Business Execution Head in New York, this role will collaborate closely with the JANA/AS Cluster Sales Head. This leadership position involves managing a small team.

Key Responsibilities:

Governance, Risk & Controls

  • Act as the Sales COO representative in governance forums alongside the Global Risk & Control team.
  • Identify, prioritize, and formulate execution strategies to address emerging risks or regulatory changes.
  • Lead the development of new Risk and Control capabilities.
  • Ensure adherence to all internal and regulatory standards within the business.
  • Coordinate and facilitate regulatory reviews.
  • Support internal audit reviews by providing necessary materials and addressing any concerns.
  • Collaborate with Sales to foster a strong culture of conduct and control.

Business Management

  • Assist sales leaders and managers with daily business administration.
  • Support the growth strategy of the business and drive its implementation.
  • Work with Cluster Markets and Cluster Sales heads to manage the Cluster Sales budget and headcount needs, while understanding financial drivers.
  • Oversee Sales' planning, outlook processes, and monthly and quarterly business reviews.
  • Help business leaders adapt to changes in the operational environment.

Human Capital Management

  • Lead a team of business management professionals within the JANA/AS clusters.
  • Ensure alignment of the people strategy and organizational capabilities with business objectives.
  • Attract, develop, and retain talent while managing headcount and hiring processes.
  • Promote internal mobility, diversity, and inclusion initiatives, as well as location strategies.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Proven leadership skills to manage a large, complex global business.
  • Extensive knowledge of markets, with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Understanding of the Risk and Controls landscape.
  • Solid grasp of Asian markets and regulatory frameworks.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Credibility to lead, manage, and motivate a diverse team across various geographies and functions.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a pragmatic approach to resource allocation.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and organizational capabilities.
