This newly established position within the Markets Sales COO team is tasked with spearheading the Business Execution and Risk & Control functions for Sales across the Asia clusters, specifically Japan, Asia North & Australia (JANA), and Asia South (AS). The Sales COO team is committed to fostering a robust first line of defense control environment and culture to mitigate operational risks within the business. The ideal candidate will exhibit a proven track record of leading teams and collaborating effectively with diverse stakeholders across Markets, Compliance, Finance, HR, Operations & Technology, and Risk. This role demands strong analytical, interpersonal, and leadership capabilities, relying on influence and the establishment of effective partnerships to systematically and measurably execute business plans and controls.

Governance, Risk & Controls:

  • Represent Sales COO in governance forums alongside the Global Risk & Control team.
  • Identify, prioritize, and formulate execution plans to address emerging risks or regulatory changes.
  • Lead the development of new Risk and Control capabilities.
  • Ensure compliance with all internal and regulatory standards.
  • Coordinate regulatory assessments.
  • Assist in internal audit processes, providing necessary materials and addressing concerns.
  • Collaborate with Sales to foster a strong culture of conduct and control.

Business Management:

  • Support sales leaders and managers in the daily administration of the business.
  • Contribute to the business growth strategy and oversee its implementation.
  • Work with Cluster Markets and Cluster Sales heads to manage sales budgets and headcount requirements, while understanding financial drivers.
  • Oversee Sales' planning and outlook processes, including monthly and quarterly business reviews.
  • Assist business leaders in adapting to environmental changes.

Human Capital Management:

  • Lead a team of business management professionals within the JANA/AS clusters.
  • Ensure alignment of the people strategy and organizational capabilities with business objectives.
  • Attract, develop, and retain talent; manage headcount and recruitment processes.
  • Promote internal mobility, diversity, and inclusion initiatives as well as location strategies.

Experience, Skills, and Competencies:

  • Leadership capabilities to manage a large, complex global business.
  • In-depth understanding of markets; a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in Markets.
  • Knowledge of the Risk and Controls environment.
