KPMG China is a leading professional services firm that provides multidisciplinary services from audit and tax to advisory. Our Deal Strategy team helps companies identify and deliver real value from major deals, including acquisitions and divestitures. We support our clients throughout the deal cycle, from pre-acquisition commercial due diligence to post-merger integration and value creation opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support pre-deal due diligence and provide strategic advice to executives on integration risk
  • Help set up and manage an integration management office
  • Develop a target operating model to outline how the merged company will operate post-transaction
  • Assist clients in developing detailed integration plans
  • Offer change management support and advice
Commercial, Operational Due Diligence, and Value Creation Opportunities
  • Assess markets, segmentations, and overall attractiveness, including estimating size and projected growth
  • Review the regulatory landscape and assess the strengths and weaknesses of competitors
  • Identify synergy initiatives and/or review synergy plans presented by management during merger transactions
  • Estimate additional costs required for the carved-out entity to operate as a standalone business in a carve-out transaction
  • Identify operational risks and upsides associated with a transaction
Requirements
  • Strong interest in M&A and financial services
  • 5-7+ years of professional working experience with exposure to mergers & acquisitions and due diligence in a consulting, professional service, investment banking, private equity, or corporate environment
  • With 2-3 years of experience leading teams
  • Previous experience in planning and/or implementing business performance improvement initiatives in an operational, financial, or strategy role is considered a plus
