About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Climate Risk Expert to join our team at KPMG China. As an Associate Director, you will play a key role in driving our climate risk strategy and delivering high-quality services to our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement our global climate risk strategy in consultation with the Global Decarbonization Hub Lead.
  • Build and manage a global climate risk team, ensuring seamless delivery of services to our clients.
  • Support member firms with proposals in this area through the bid stage and through delivery, helping them to drive pursuit execution and form a strategic response.
  • Develop and oversee all climate risk-related technology solutions, actively examining potential alliance and strategic partner opportunities.
  • Lead KPMG's global involvement on all climate risk matters with key external stakeholders, building strong relationships and driving business development initiatives.
  • Originate climate risk opportunities and engagements, leading business development initiatives and closing opportunities.
  • Collaborate with other global and regional hubs, as well as our pillars across KPMG IMPACT, to ensure integrated and end-to-end offerings and a consistent narrative.
Requirements
  • Deep understanding of climate risk, as well as climate challenge and drivers for decarbonization.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience working within a professional services firm covering topics associated with climate change and decarbonization.
  • Experience working at a global level within a global professional services organization is advantageous.
  • Deep knowledge and awareness of current market trends, activities, and key players.
  • Proven delivery and contribution of thought leadership with an external voice in the marketplace.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with a range of different stakeholders.
  • Passionate about the climate change agenda.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and with gravitas with senior stakeholders both internal and external.
  • Significant and recent experience in a consulting firm or industry preparing and delivering climate change and decarbonization services and technology solutions.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity, fluid consulting situations, and a highly pressured environment.
  • Professional presentation skills with impact, competent in presenting ideas clearly and convincingly to influence senior stakeholders and possessing personal presence, with the ability to earn trust and respect.
  • Collaborative outlook and team player.
