Key Responsibilities

  1. Develop and Implement Data Strategy

Formulate, communicate, and execute a holistic and forward-looking data strategy that leverages industry best practices around data and technology.

Lead Data Engineering Team

Lead an engineering team of highly skilled software, infrastructure, and data professionals to support the data and information needs of various business units and stakeholders.

Data Management

Build up best practices and strategy of the data infrastructure and ensure it is aligned to the industrial standard. Lead the effective delivery of data platforms, pipelines, and processes that are scalable, secure, well performed, and able to fulfill existing and future needs of the business development.

Business Intelligence Implementation

Project management on Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence implementation. Work closely with business on requirement gathering; prioritize business information needs. Design data model, ETL jobs, metrics, KPI, reports, dashboards, and data visualizations.

Data Analytics

Develop and implement data analytics and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality. Provide integrated insight, advisory, and analyses that help drive business revenue via analysis on customer behavior and marketing initiatives (subscription acquisition & retention, and cross-sell initiatives, etc.).

Innovation and Continuous Improvement

Emerging latest data technologies and capabilities and driving adoption to add value to the existing data environment and the organization wherever possible. Ease the data tagging management on web and product apps. Facilitate the product UX/UI enhancement via data-driven model.

Other General Responsibilities

Gather and transform complex business and functional requirements into detailed technical designs. Work with cross-functional teams at the organization and country level (APAC countries such as Singapore, Philippines, and Thailand).

Requirements

  1. Degree in Computer Science, Information System, Information Management, or related discipline.
  2. At least 10 years of demonstrated industry experience in Data warehouse, ETL, BI, Big data, or analytics areas and broad exposure to all its sub-disciplines.
  3. Passionate about data and analytics; willing to work with large, complex, and multiple data sets from various sources to discover the power and insight of data for statistical analysis and predictive modeling to derive meaningful insights and actionable conclusions.
  4. Expert in data architecture, data modeling, and design, data integration and engineering (ETL, batch, and streaming), administration, and operations, operational uses (API and web backend) with requirements on scalability and availability.
  5. Proven experience in the implementation of data systems that service DW, BI, and analytics (predictive modeling, machine learning, etc.).
  6. Good understanding of technology concepts, trends, and capabilities and eager to learn new technologies and tools.
  7. Proficient and experienced in the following areas: Database: MySQL / PostgreSQL / Redshift / Redshift Spectrum / Other columnar DBs. Integration Services: DataStage / Informatica / BI tools: Cognos / QlikView / Tableau / Programming, scripting, and querying language: Java / Python / SQL / Shell scripts / Cloud services: AWS (EC2, S3, Athena, Glue, Batch) / Google Cloud / Big data architecture and technologies: Hadoop / HDFS / Lambda / Athena / MapReduce.
  8. Knowledge in the following is a plus: Database: NoSQL DB (MongoDB / Cassandra / Redis / HBase / Amazon DynamoDB) / Programming language: Scala / Big data technologies: Spark / Kafka / Kinesis / Machine Learning.
  9. Have an eye for detail and demonstrate a restless curiosity.
  10. Demonstrated strong analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
  11. Flexible and able to work in a dynamic environment and manage your own time and in a high-paced work environment and tight timeline.
  12. Good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese and Mandarin.
