The Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology is seeking exceptional candidates for a substantiation-track faculty position in Mechanics and Materials Science.
The position is open to all areas of solid mechanics and advanced materials, including micro/nanomechanics, energy materials, and soft matter. Applicants should have a PhD in mechanical engineering, materials science and engineering, or related fields, and be expected to have recognized academic, research, and/or industrial experience.
The appointee will be expected to establish an externally-funded research program and contribute to undergraduate and graduate teaching across the Department. The University offers a world-class research environment, access to advanced computational and experimental resources, and opportunities for collaboration with colleagues across the University.
The appointment will be based in the Department of MAE, which possesses world-leading expertise in aeroacoustics, mechanics, materials, manufacturing, and energy areas. The appointee will also have opportunities to collaborate with colleagues across the University.

Appointment at all ranks (Assistant Professor/Associate Professor/Professor) will be considered. Salary is highly competitive and will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits, including medical and dental benefits, annual leave, and housing, will be provided where applicable.
