Job Summary

As a Data Center Inventory Manager at Microsoft, you will lead a team of Inventory and Asset Management technicians responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our global data center portfolio. You will be responsible for managing inventory cycle audits, data center regulatory compliance activities, and warranty processes. This role requires strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively with stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage day-to-day operations of the inventory and asset management team
  • Ensure inbound and outbound processes are running smoothly and effectively
  • Assess resource and workflow patterns to determine needed changes in work assignments
  • Support project planning, management, and communication with stakeholders
  • Coordinate relationships with third-party vendors for DBD destruction
  • Comply with established methodologies and approaches to ensure delivery and execution of contracts and purchase orders
  • Process price and procurement requests for server, network, and storage requirements
  • Provide thought leadership on established methodologies and monitor outcome
  • Serve as subject matter expert and model compliance to junior team members
Requirements
  • High School Diploma and 3+ years of experience in warehouse/supply chain in an IT environment, inventory management, retail, warehouse management, logistics, or a related field
  • Ability to work shifts, including evening, nighttime, weekends, and/or holidays
  • Background Check Requirements: Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements
Preferred Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in warehouse/supply chain in an IT environment, IT, and/or logistics, operating heavy-load movement equipment
  • 1+ year of project management experience
  • Certification in APICS/ASCM, IAITAM, Inventory Control, or equivalent
