Our extensive practice in Hong Kong, which includes lawyers both locally and internationally, supports companies in Hong Kong with their various legal needs in the United States, the United Kingdom, Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and beyond.

Our Hong Kong office is in search of a Paralegal.

JOB SCOPE

  • Employs the firm's software and technology, particularly any technology specific to the practice group.
  • Reviews, organizes, summarizes, and evaluates information related to specific inquiries to produce a coherent and usable work product.
  • Investigates factual matters using a variety of resources, including client and industry databases established by the case team or practice group, statutes, regulations, and approved online media/websites, as well as other external sources.
  • Maintains client, matter, or practice group-specific extranets, databases, or libraries in the required electronic format or hard copy, as dictated by project guidelines.
  • Effectively presents project results in emails, written memos, or logical discussions; proactively provides status updates to project stakeholders.
  • Develops and maintains spreadsheets, utilizing standard formulas.
  • Coordinates the tracking and storage of client information in collaboration with the firm's Records Department, ensuring compliance with departmental and firm policies.
  • Adheres to all administrative standards set by the firm, including the preparation and submission of daily time entries, attendance at administrative meetings, and other assigned administrative tasks.
  • Undertakes any ad hoc duties and projects assigned by attorneys.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • A Bachelor's Degree is required, with a minimum of three (3) years of paralegal experience.
  • Exceptional communication skills, including bilingual proficiency in both Chinese and English.
  • A working knowledge of legal terminology and the foundational principles of law relevant to the practice group.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and the capacity to be trained on specific practice group technologies.
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to follow up on assignments and produce high-quality work with appropriate oversight.
  • Maintain a positive, adaptable, and committed attitude; work collaboratively as part of a practice support team.
  • Effective time management skills to work independently and meet deadlines in a frequently interrupted environment.
  • Critical thinking abilities to make informed decisions, a willingness to follow instructions, and the responsibility to bring any issues or discrepancies to the attention of the supervising attorney.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and developments in the legal profession; proactively seek training opportunities.
  • Sound judgment in decision-making to resolve issues and achieve defined business outcomes.
  • Organize and prioritize workload with minimal supervision.
  • Proactive work ethic and initiative in managing projects while maintaining confidentiality regarding firm and client matters.
