Position Overview
The role involves managing personal line claims with a primary focus on travel insurance. This position requires minimal supervision to effectively handle standard complex claims, ensuring a customer-focused claims service that aligns with Zurich's core principles.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee personal line claims with an emphasis on travel-related incidents.
- Evaluate, resolve, and finalize claims proactively within established authority limits, aiming for optimal settlement outcomes.
- Provide expert technical guidance to the claims team.
- Support the Claims Manager with managerial duties and various ad hoc responsibilities.
- Ensure compliance with local regulatory standards and governance throughout the claims process, making informed decisions based on established criteria.
- Adhere to customer service protocols and the service charter.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree or higher is preferred; candidates with relevant experience and a diploma may also be considered.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in handling Travel and Personal Lines claims.
- Proven experience in travel and/or Retail Property claims, with strong customer service skills.
- Possession of recognized industry qualifications (e.g., Senior Associate of ANZIIF) is advantageous.
- Solid technical knowledge of insurance products and services.
- Strong claims handling expertise, particularly in travel claims.
- Familiarity with local legislation and legal responsibilities.
- Understanding of industry standards and protocols.
- Knowledge of claims agreements and the ability to interpret policy details.
- Data analytical skills are preferred.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines, with a willingness to learn and adapt to business changes.
- Less experienced candidates may be considered for the Claims Officer role.
