Job Summary:

FIS is seeking a highly experienced and skilled Business Strategy and Consulting Manager to lead our Financial Services Consulting Practice. The successful candidate will be responsible for building and executing a business strategy to drive growth and profitability for the practice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a business strategy to drive growth and profitability for the practice.
  • Build and manage a high-performing consulting team to deliver exceptional results for clients.
  • Develop and maintain key relationships with FIS channel partners, including sales, relationship management, product management, and business unit management.
  • Ensure the practice provides industry thought leadership and maintains a strong reputation in the market.
  • Manage the profit and loss of the consulting practice, including forecasting and managing to revenue and expense targets.
  • Communicate business metrics to senior management and ensure generated revenue meets or exceeds plan for FIS Consulting Services Business.
  • Ensure consulting engagements provide excellent client satisfaction and client loyalty.
  • Manage consulting personnel, including engagement staffing, staff performance evaluations, effective communication, career planning, and succession planning.
  • Provide resources with the right expertise to meet business needs and manage external relationships, creating a flexible staffing alternative for peak demand times.
  • Ensure effective utilization of resources on billable projects, asset development, sales support, and thought leadership.
  • Collaborate with other Consulting Practice Managers to ensure the right resources are working on the right work to optimize goals for the entire division based on priorities and demand generated.
  • Attract and retain talent to meet business needs for the practice.
  • Provide direct sales support throughout the entire sales cycle, working closely with sales and account management to create and close opportunities, including proposal/ statement of work development, negotiating pricing, project planning, and giving prospect presentations.
  • Maintain quality client relationships to gain referrals for new clients.
  • Nurture relationships, define consulting engagements to support relationship needs, and sell the initiative.
  • Other related duties assigned as needed.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or the equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience.
  • Minimum 7 years in management and ideally in financial services consulting.
  • Ability to build relationships with C-level management, peers, and others.
  • Broad knowledge of regulatory requirements, financial institution operations, and risk management.
  • Project management, productivity, planning, and workload management skills.
  • Negotiation skills regarding complex issues.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and keep emotions under control during difficult situations.
  • Adaptable and dependable in fast-paced, changing business environments.
  • Willing to travel 30% to 50% (or as needed).
