Job Summary:

The Science Unit invites applications for a Research Officer position to join our research team led by Prof. Paulina Wong. The appointee will work on a Health and Medical Research Fund project involving location-based health promotion mobile app development, focused on health intervention/promotion and relevant disciplines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake location-based public health project development, promotion, and research
  • Support the hardware and software development of location-based health promotion mobile app and overall system integration to support cloud computing, deliver intervention, health monitoring, and analytics
  • Engage in literature review, requirement analysis, health data collection, data processing, and analysis, system usability testing, and documentation
  • Manage the recruitment, training, and data collection of participants of the study
  • Responsible for project daily operation, report write-up, and presentation materials preparation
  • Provide administrative/teaching support and other related duties to the supervisor

Requirements:

  • A master's degree or above in Geo-informatics, Urban Studies, Data Science, Public Health, Statistics, or other related disciplines
  • At least 1 to 2 years of relevant work experience
  • Familiar with ArcGIS and CSDI portal is preferred
  • Good command in written and spoken English and Chinese
  • Preference will be given to those who have demonstrated experience in research project management and academic publication

Salary and Benefits:

The rank and commencing salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits, where applicable, include annual leave, medical and dental benefits, and mandatory provident fund.

Appointment:

Appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract for a period of up to 24 months.
