Job Summary

The Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Strategic Research Officer to join our team. As a key member of our research department, you will be responsible for developing and implementing research plans and strategies that align with our organizational goals and objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement research plans and strategies that align with our organizational goals and objectives.
  • Project Management: Manage team research projects, including setting project timelines, allocating resources, and monitoring progress to ensure timely completion.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal teams, external partners, and stakeholders to gather input, provide updates, and ensure research objectives are met.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure research activities adhere to ethical standards, research protocols, and regulatory requirements.
  • Team Leadership: Provide guidance and mentorship to research staff. Oversee their work, provide feedback, and promote professional development.
  • Budgeting and Financial Management: Develop and manage budgets, monitor expenditures, and ensure effective resource allocation.
  • Knowledge Dissemination: Present research findings at conferences, workshops, and other public forums.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field such as Social Science, or a related discipline.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in a responsible leadership role.
Skills and Abilities
  • Strong Research Skills: Should have good knowledge of social research and equipped with solid research and data analysis skills.
  • Leadership and Strategic Thinking: Should possess strong leadership and strategic thinking skills and be able to inspire and motivate team, make critical decisions, and effectively implement strategies to achieve organizational objectives.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Should be able to convey ideas clearly and effectively to different stakeholders. Strong interpersonal skills are also important for building relationships and networking.
  • Decision-Making and Problem-Solving Skills: Should have sound decision-making and problem-solving abilities and be able to analyze problems, evaluate options, and make informed decisions in a timely manner.
  • Adaptability and Change Management: Should have the ability to lead and manage the team change initiatives, while also being open to learning and continuously improving his/her own skills and knowledge.
