Job Overview

As a Head of Airfreight in South China, you'll be part of our senior leadership team, overseeing the air freight business for the region. You'll be a strategic thinker and a strong change leader, driving growth and profitability while building strong relationships with carriers, customers, and internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute the regional air freight strategy, setting financial targets and working closely with Sales, Finance, and Global Leadership.
  • Drive end-to-end ownership of regional P&L, leveraging procurement, pricing, planning, and business development to fuel growth.
  • Own operational metrics, including on-time performance, schedule quality, and productivity.
  • Lead day-to-day implementation of the regional strategy, ensuring the right metrics are in place to track performance and drive execution.
Procurement Strategy:
  • Identify procurement opportunities and lead strategic negotiations to secure value for the region.
  • Administer vendor strategies, establish service level agreements, and monitor performance.
  • Formalize a long-term vision for procurement, maintaining an implementation roadmap.
Product Development:
  • Align region's product capabilities with market needs, partnering with operations to standardize service level agreements.
  • Develop new products to meet market gaps, providing subject matter expertise to engineering teams.
Team Leadership:
  • Define target organization structure, recruit and develop a high-performing management team.
  • Ensure team objectives and individual goals are in place, actively managing engagement, performance, and growth.
Partnerships and Collaboration:
  • Drive collaboration with Sales teams, designing and implementing end-to-end products for customers.
  • Provide deep market expertise, operations knowledge, and consultative sales support to grow the book of business.
Requirements:
  • 10-15+ years of experience in freight forwarding, airlines, or logistics operations.
  • Strategic thinking and day-to-day implementation skills.
  • Deep freight forwarding market and operations expertise.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
