Assistant Visitor Services Operations Manager, M+ Museum

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to lead our team in delivering exceptional visitor experiences at the M+ Museum. As Assistant Visitor Services Operations Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our museum venues and ensuring that all visitors have an engaging and memorable experience.

In this role, you will work closely with our curator teams, marketing department, and other front-line staff to plan, implement, and execute events and programs that showcase the best of contemporary visual culture. You will also collaborate with external partners to manage venue hire requests and ensure seamless event execution.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading a team of Visitor Services staff to achieve high standards of service delivery and maintain compliance with safety guidelines;
  • Overseeing the planning and execution of events and programs, including venue setup, logistics, and technical support;
  • Coordinating with curatorial teams to develop exhibition content and programming;
  • Managing relationships with external partners, including venue hirers and vendors;
  • Providing regular reports to management on key performance indicators and budget management;

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A recognized university degree in business, hospitality, or a related field;
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in the hospitality or cultural sector, preferably in a leadership or operations role;
  • Proven track record of delivering high-quality customer experiences and managing complex events;
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities;
  • Knowledge of audiovisual workflows and technology is an asset;
  • Fluency in English and Cantonese (Putonghua or other languages an advantage).
