Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Business Development Officer to join our team at Zurich Insurance Company. As a Business Development Officer, you will play a key role in enhancing our conversion ratio by performing business activities such as follow-up and market-facing duties, and maintaining good and connected relationships with all business intermediaries.

Key Responsibilities

  • In partnership with Account Managers, create, develop, and manage relationships with business intermediaries to influence them to do business with our organization.
  • Evaluate business opportunities to optimize profitable sales and retention, and achieve business targets.
  • Work in conjunction with our Distribution team to secure new business and retain existing business, coordinate all tenders, and identify cross-sell opportunities.
  • Maintain and renew a deep knowledge and understanding of our company's risk and compliance policies relevant to your area of work, highlight discrepancies, and escalate or resolve as appropriate.
  • Collaborate with and actively support the Operations team to maximize the positive impact on business intermediaries and their customers.
  • Engage with Underwriters to price and complete quotation requests received directly or through the account panel.
  • Perform ad hoc duties within the team as required.

Requirements

  • Diploma in Insurance Studies or Degree holder preferably with over 4 years of working experience gained in the insurance industry.
  • Familiar with a wide range of General Insurance products.
  • Insurance Professional Qualification is an added advantage.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated, independent, and able to work under pressure with a high standard of accuracy.
  • Knowledge in Microsoft Office Software.
