About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Curatorial Specialist to join our team at the M+ Museum in Hong Kong. As a key member of our curatorial team, you will play a crucial role in developing and implementing our curatorial strategies and programmes in relation to Design and Architecture.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the development of our curatorial strategies and programmes in relation to Design and Architecture;
  • Research and propose new acquisitions for our collections of Design and Architecture;
  • Assist with research, planning, and coordination of exhibitions and other public programmes with a focus on Design and Architecture;
  • Organise and plan meetings with other curatorial teams and external parties;
  • Collaborate with collection and exhibition teams, as well as museum operations teams;
  • Contribute to the overall development of the future M+ Museum, including exhibitions, publications, and other public programmes.
Requirements
  • A recognised university degree in Design or Architecture or equivalent;
  • 6-9 years of experience in researching, planning, and/or implementing exhibitions and other public programmes;
  • Strong research skills and the ability to communicate ideas to a wide range of audiences;
  • Excellent knowledge of the histories and current state of design and/or architecture in Asia;
  • Experience of working in a museum setting or a large-scale arts organisation with international scope and collection;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Chinese and/or another Asian language.
