Curatorial Opportunities at the Hong Kong Palace Museum

The Hong Kong Palace Museum is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Curatorial Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our curatorial department, you will play a vital role in planning and implementing exhibitions, developing our collections, and collaborating with international partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with our Head Curator and curatorial colleagues to develop and implement exhibition strategies and programs.
  • Develop and manage our museum collections, ensuring their quality and relevance to our audience.
  • Collaborate with the Palace Museum on exhibition arrangements and other research and curatorial matters.
  • Plan and oversee the configuration and management of exhibition galleries.
  • Conduct research and develop content for exhibitions, publications, and other programs.
  • Review and edit exhibition-related materials and publications.

Requirements:

  • PhD in Art History, History, Cultural Studies, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience in exhibition planning and implementation in a museum or comparable institution.
  • Strong knowledge of new media art and contemporary art practices related to Chinese art history.
  • Excellent research and communication skills to convey ideas to diverse audiences.
  • Collaborative mindset and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken Chinese and English.
