Job Title: Investment Bank Executive Director, Non Financial Risk Manager

At JobsLab, we are seeking an experienced Investment Bank Executive Director to lead our Non-Financial Risk Management team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for developing and implementing operational risk policies, monitoring compliance, and conducting independent risk assessments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Team Leadership: Manage a small team of non-financial risk managers across the region, providing guidance and support to ensure effective risk management.
  • Operational Risk Policy: Develop and implement operational risk policies in line with regulatory expectations, ensuring alignment with industry standards.
  • Compliance Monitoring: Monitor the first line of defense's compliance to firm policies and industry standards, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Risk Assessment: Conduct independent assessments of operational risk through review of incidents, control issues, risk acceptance, and key risk indicators.
  • Risk Analysis: Analyze firm-wide risk themes and trends, providing recommendations and challenges to drive risk mitigation.
  • Risk Culture: Strengthen firm-wide risk culture through training programs and best practices sharing, promoting a culture of risk awareness.
  • Risk Program Governance: Manage and oversee risk and control programs, including business continuity, outsourcing, end-user computing, and segregation of duties.
  • New Business Governance: Manage new business/product governance to ensure appropriate risk assessment prior to business commencement.
  • Risk Program Governance: Manage overall risk program governance across risk types.
Requirements:
  • Experience: Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in either first or second-line roles.
  • Education: Degree qualified, preferably in Business, Accountancy, Banking & Finance, or a relevant discipline.
  • Knowledge: Strong knowledge of securities products and processes, preferably with recent work experience in Fixed Income, Currency (FIC), Equities, and Capital Markets.
  • Skills: Self-driven individual able to identify necessary changes, challenge status quo, and lead cultural changes throughout the organization.
  • Teamwork: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collaborate and work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Communication: Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities and projects.
  • Leadership: Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, with the ability to drive results with limited supervision.
  • Business Acumen: Strong business acumen, with the ability to analyze firm-wide risk themes and trends.
