Vice President of Hotel Performance

Job Description
The Vice President Operations will be responsible for driving the success of Wharf Hotels by overseeing the efficient operations and delivery of our brand promises across our hotels. This includes ensuring that our brand standards, profitability, and legal and financial requirements are met while achieving maximum guest, customer, owner, and colleague satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Drive Business Objectives: Establish business objectives and operational strategies with the Executive Committee, divisional and departmental heads, and General Managers.
- Maintain Owner Relationships: Ensure compliance with brand standards and maximize brand value through strong relationships with owners and management teams.
- Support Property Teams: Foster strong owner relationships through regular meetings and provide performance advice to property teams.
- Develop Business Plans: Create and execute annual business plans and budgets for properties, ensuring effective implementation across hotels.
- Implement Strategic Plans: Oversee the implementation of strategic plans, focusing on profit maximization and service quality.
- Conduct Monthly Reviews: Lead monthly Business Review Calls to address performance gaps and identify improvement opportunities.
- Provide Financial Reporting: Deliver monthly evaluations of financial and operational performance to senior executives.
- Develop Quality Standards: Establish and maintain WHM quality standards for both existing and new hotels.
- Identify Market Opportunities: Assist with marketing, financial analysis, and competitive positioning to support brand growth.
- Implement Operational Strategies: Drive the implementation of operational strategies across various areas to achieve business objectives.
- Oversee Pre-Opening Activities: Ensure timely implementation of operational standards for new hotels.
- Guide General Managers: Direct General Managers to ensure brand standards are met, profitability maximized, and issues resolved effectively.
Requirements
- College or University degree (preferred)
- Certification in hotel management (preferred but not required)
- At least 15 years of experience in hotel operations or equivalent
- Previous experience as General Manager / Area General Manager / Multi Property General Manager
- Pre-opening / Opening Experience
- Experience in China and Asia Pacific Region
- Strong self-awareness, empathy, and effective communication skills
- Excellent vision and planning skills, with the ability to organize and delegate tasks effectively
- Embraces change, engages in creative thinking, and manages transitions effectively
