Job Description:

We are seeking a seasoned professional to join our Commercial Banking team as Head of Structured Banking. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and managing the Structured Loan (STL) and Syndicated Finance (SDF) business, driving product growth, and enhancing market share and positioning.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in deal origination, structuring, and execution, with experience in structured/syndicated finance, commercial real estate finance, and sustainable finance matters. They will also possess excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills, with the ability to influence, engage, and lead positively and inspiringly.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and manage STL and SDF business, driving product growth and enhancing market share and positioning.
  • Keep abreast of trends and developments in Hong Kong and Mainland China syndicated loan markets, formulating sustainable strategies to maintain and enhance market share and positioning.
  • Manage Sustainable Finance (SF) business, driving product growth and ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements.
  • Promote Hang Seng Bank as a leading Sustainable Finance partner for corporates, advocating ESG initiatives and promoting net zero emission journeys.
  • Lead and oversee SF transactions, monitoring risk exposure and ensuring governance control.
  • Manage Commercial Real Estate (CRE) business portfolio, including deal pitching, structuring, pre-approval credit monitoring, and post-approval risk exposure management.
  • Drive debt capital markets capability growth, collaborating with HSBC Group to originate and solicit customer demand for bond issuance in HK.

Requirements:

  • University degree holders, preferably in Banking, Finance, Commerce, Real Estate, or related disciplines.
  • Full professional proficiency in both spoken and written English and Chinese, including Mandarin.
  • Minimum 15 years hands-on experience in deal origination, structuring, and execution, with seasoned experience in structured/syndicated finance, commercial real estate finance, and sustainable finance matters.
  • Reputable individual with market recognition and seniority, established regional market connections, and expertise in market development, particularly in Hong Kong and China regulatory and policy fronts.
  • Sound knowledge of Hang Seng Bank products and a strong network of contacts across all business areas.
  • People management experience, including managing team managers.
