Job Summary:

The BFE Team is primarily responsible for performing initial and ongoing operational due diligence on hedge fund and asset management firms with whom BXMA partners or invests. As an Investment Operations Analyst, you will participate in initial and ongoing operational due diligence meetings with hedge fund managers, monitor a sub-set of hedge fund managers, and review and analyze hedge fund manager materials.

Responsibilities:
  • Participate in initial and ongoing operational due diligence meetings with hedge fund managers
  • Monitor a sub-set of hedge fund managers and collaborate with teammates to establish and carry out due diligence plans
  • Review and analyze hedge fund manager materials, including due diligence questionnaires, marketing materials, and regulatory filings
  • Produce comprehensive operational due diligence reports and risk assessments
  • Present verbal or written business updates to internal and external stakeholders
  • Perform due diligence on third-party fund administrators, technology consultants, and other service providers
  • Review third-party background checks and other public record searches
  • Respond to client requests and inquiries regarding industry and investment manager-specific topics
  • Monitor industry trends and regulatory developments and share content with the BFE Team
Qualifications:

Blackstone seeks to hire individuals who work well in a team-driven working group, are highly motivated, intelligent, have sound judgment, and have demonstrated excellence in prior endeavors. The successful candidate should have prior work experience in financial, operational, or compliance roles within a traditional or alternative asset management firm, or experience at a public accounting firm, hedge fund administrator, prime broker, or law firm's alternative asset management practice.

The ideal candidate should have knowledge of hedge fund structures, terms, operations, accounting, valuation, trade flow, and regulatory/compliance topics. Strong professional written communication skills and experience with business writing are also required. English fluency is required, and additional Mandarin and/or Cantonese language skills are preferred. Exceptional leadership potential, attention to detail, strong work ethic, self-motivation, proactivity, and organizational skills are also essential.
