About the Role

The role of a Business Analyst in our GWAM Asia Operations team is pivotal in driving our transformation journey. As a key member, you will be responsible for obtaining, analyzing, and documenting business requirements across multiple work streams under the Operations department.

With a solid understanding of Wealth and Investment Operations, you will work collaboratively with our BAU teams to analyze business needs and develop technology requirements and solutions. Your expertise will be essential in participating in client and project meetings, understanding requirements, proposing solutions, and encouraging stakeholder engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Analyze business needs and problems to develop technology requirements and solutions to address the needs of the business.
  2. Participate in client and project meetings to understand the requirements, propose solutions, discover and diagnose issues, and encourage stakeholder engagement.
  3. Work effectively and collaboratively with all project teams, carefully managing expectations of internal stakeholders.
  4. Act as a bridge between business stakeholders and developers to ensure correct technical requirements are documented.
  5. Assist with Project Manager activities as required.
  6. Exposed to Agile Project Methodology execution.
  7. Drive as Product Owner.
  8. Assist with implementing transformational initiatives, business process change, process enhancements across the Asia region as well as across multiple business lines of retail wealth and distribution and investments.
  9. Assist with workflow analysis, business requirements and business impacts for transformations in Front Office, Middle and Back Office.
  10. Facilitate interdependencies across program streams.
  11. Coordinate activities with leads in North America, Europe across the larger programs, strategic initiatives, and governance activities (MIS/KPIs/KRIs).
  12. Manage issues, risks and book of work for Operations.

Requirements

  1. Preferred: Undergraduate degree holder (Bachelors) in Finance, Computer Science, Mathematics/Statistics, or equivalent.
  2. 10+ years as Business Analyst ('BA') or BA adjacent role within Investment or Transfer agency operations.
  3. Strong understanding and exposure of Transfer Agency Operations and Investment Operations.
  4. Proven detail oriented with strong analytical skills.
  5. Strong interpersonal, written and communication skills.
  6. Ability to build stakeholder relationships.
  7. Ability to work under pressure in a rapidly changing environment.
  8. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet assigned deadlines.
  9. Ability to formulate work plans, and identify/raise key risks, issues, and dependencies.
  10. Proactive with a positive 'can do' attitude.
  11. Exposure to JIRA and Confluence software.
  12. Proficient at Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
  13. Solid at both waterfall and agile methodologies.
  14. Proven excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  15. Strong business analysis skills to elicit, document and communicate technical requirements.
  16. Good problem probing and listening skills.
  17. Has a systematic approach to frame questions and consolidate views in a structured way.
  18. Ability to prioritize and set expectations.
  19. Good sense of business workflow and exception handling.
  20. Hands on Project Management experience would be a plus.
  21. Experience working in a large transformation program would be a plus.
  22. Experience performing complex stakeholder management would be a plus.
  23. Good at summarizing and presenting complex processes when presenting to Senior Management or Executives.
  24. Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
  25. Communication skills in Cantonese and Mandarin would be a plus.
